Braised Chinese Mushrooms and Bean Curd

Ingredients:

2 squares bean curd

6C oil for frying

3 pre-softened Chinese black mushrooms

10 1-inch sections green onion

1t sesame oil
Mixture1(3/4C stock, 1T soy sauce, 1T oyster sauce, 1/4t sugar)

Mixture2(1t cornstarch, 2t water)
[t = teaspoon; T = tablespoon; C = cup]


Method:
1)Cut Chinese black mushrooms in half; cut bean curd diagonally in half into triangles and then cut each triangle through thickness into 3 slices.

2)Heat oil for deep-frying; deep-fry bean curd over high heat until golden brown; remove and drain.

3)Heat pan and 4T oil; stir-fry green onion and Chinese black mushrooms until fragrant; add Mixture1 and bean curd slices; cover and cook 5 minutes over low heat until the sauce has decreased to about half; add Mixture2 to thicken sauce and 1t sesame oil; toss ingredients lightly and remove to serving plate; serve.
