Malay Anchovies in Hot & Spicy Sauce (Sambal Ikan Bilis)

Ingredients: (Serves 4-6)

1 cup of Anchovies

2 Bombay Onion

3 Shallots

2 tbsp tamarind sauce

1 tbsp Shrimp Paste

6 Dried Chillies

2 Clove Garlic

Some of Salt and Sugar and Oil

Method:

1. Deep fry the anchovies until crisp, set aside.

2. De-seeded dried chilies, grind all ingredients. Slice Bombay onion into ring shape.

3. Add in tamarind sauce, salt and sugar to mix well.

4. Put in anchovies and mix well.

5. Serve with freshly cooked Nasi Lemak.
