Malay Beef Kurmah (Kurmah Daging)

Ingredients: (Serves 4-6)

800 grams Beef

5 tbsp Kurmah Powder

2 cups Coconut Milk or Skinny Milk

8 Shallots

5 clove Garlic

4 cm piece ginger

3 Cardamoms

3 Star Anise

4 cm piece Cinnamon Stick

4 Cloves

2 sliced Large Onions

2 Red Chillies

Half cup Oil

Method:

1. Pound 3 shallots and 2 cloves garlic together. Get kurmah powder mix with 1 tbp water, and the pounded ingredients blend well into paste.

2. Sliced garlic and shallots finely.

3. Fry the sliced garlic and shallots with the pounded spice with some oil until fragrant.

4. Add in kurmah powder and fry until the oil separates from ingredients.

5. Put in beef cube and a cup of water. Cook in low frame until tender.

6. Pour in coconut milk or skinny milk, put to boil.

7. Add in salt and cook further until the gravy thickens.

8. Add in sliced large onions and sliced red chillies.

9. Stir well and remove from flame and serve.
