Malay Rice in Ghee (Nasi Minyak)

Ingredients: (Serves 4-6)

1.5 cup long grain rice

2 cup Water

2.5 tbsp Ghee

4 cm piece Ginger sliced

2 cm Cinnamon stick

4 Shallots

1 clove Garlic and some ginger

3 Cloves

A dash of Salt

Method:

1. Wash the rice well, drain and set aside.

2. Slice Garlic and shallots nicely.

3. Heat up a pan and fry sliced shallots, garlics, ginger until golden brown color and add in cloves.

4. Add in water and salt, cover the pot and boil it.

5. Stir slowly and set fire to low to get the rice cooked thoroughly.

6. To serve with some raisins and sliced shallots.
