Malay Beef Soup (Sup Daging Lembu)

Ingredients: (Serves 6-8)

400 Gram Beef Steak

5 Pcs Potatoes - if you like more potatoes you can add more

1 Large Onion - chopped in quarter.

1 tsp Aniseed

1.5 tsp Coriander Seeds

2 Piece Cinnamon Stick

2 Small Red Onions - sliced

1 pc Spring Onions

A dash of Salt

Method:

1. Chop the beef into cubic size.

2. Soak and boil the beef in water to get rid the dirty particles and blood for 10-20 minutes, when it is tender remove and set aside.

3. Pour in water in a pot and add in aniseed and coriander seeds finely and wrap in muslin cloth. Put into the soup together with cinnamon stick and onion.

4. Add in the beef and continue boil until it is tender and put in the peeled and quartered potatoes.

5. Add in salt and continue boiling until the potatoes are tender.

6. Fry the sliced onions and use as garnishing, together with the spring onions.
