Nyonya Meatball Soup (Bawan Kepeting)

Ingredients: (Serves 4-6)

500 gram Minced Pork

400 gram Minced Fish Flesh

300 gram Crab Meat

100 gram cooked shredded Bamboo Shoots

10 cloves Garlic

1 Egg

2 tsp Soy Sauce

5 tbsp Oil

Salt to taste

Soup Ingredients:

500 gram Cooked Shredded Bamboo Shoots

1 litre Water

1 tsp Sugar

2 tsp Salt

Method:

1. Heat up a pan with some oil, fry the garlic until golden brown, set aside.

2. Stir fry the bamboo shoots for 5 minutes with some oil. Remove and set aside for soup cooking.

3. Add water, sugar and salt. Set to boil with the fried bamboo shoots under low fire.

3. Prepare the meatballs. Mix the minced pork, minced fish flesh, soy sauce, fried garlic, bamboo shoots, egg and crab meat together. Add in some salt to season.

4. Mix well and make into ball shape. Put into the boiling soup.

5. Pour out the soup and garnish with spring onions.
